Nein zum Putsch in Honduras!

Wednesday, 8. July 2009 @ 12:03

http://www.todosconhonduras.cult.cu/index.php?cont=declara&lang=2&declara=9 Last Sunday morning, military forces supporting the oligarchy, carried out a coup d'etat against the Constitutional President of the Republic of Honduras, Jose Manuel Zelaya, who was kidnapped and moved to Costa Rica.

The violent action was done to impede a legitimate popular poll.

The most reactionary forces , the mass media controlled by the oligarchy and the military higher ranks, have confabulated against the deepening of popular participation , the independence of the foreign policy and the integration into the ALBA, that President Zelaya has promoted, with a clear backing from the majorities.

The Cuban chapter of the Network of Networks in Defense of Humanity condemns this coup d'etat against the interests of the people of Honduras ,and against the process of transformations that is nowadays lived in Latin America. It also summons the intellectuals , artists and social fighters linked with our network, and also all the people of good will around the world , to use all means available to denounce this return to the sinister era of the coups that spilled so much blood in this continent.

We accompany the people and the social movements of Honduras in their struggle to recover immediately their constitutional rights and for stopping all attemps of agression and conspiracy that pretend to legitimate this criminal action.

REPEAL TO THE FASCIST COUPCHAPTER MEXICO

We condemn the coup d'etat against the Constitutional President of the Republic of Honduras, Manuel Zelaya, carried out by the military, oligarchic sectors of this nation, the high hierarchy of the Catholic Church and the mass media supporting all these groups.

We appeal to all the political and social organizations to raise their voice against this violent measure taken by those opposing to any expression of sovereignty and people's protagonism.

We demand the immediate reinstament of President Zelaya and we express our iunconditional support to the people of Honduras.

A BLOW TO SILENCE THE HONDURAN PEOPLEVENEZUELA CHAPTER

Hours before a popular poll that would had decided about the installing of a fourth ballot box during the elections schedule for next november 29th, during which it would be determined the possibility of convoking a National Constitutional Assembly in the Republic of Honduras, a Coup D'etat orchestrated by a small sized group of high ranking military officers of the armed forces , with the backing of the burgoise extreme right and the companies that own the mass media, has vulnerated the democracy of Latin America and the right of the people of Honduras to decide about their internal affairs.

Following the modern imperialist recipe of carrying ahead Coup D'etats, a group of military men that uprised, proceeded to kidnap the legitimate President of the Republic , Manuel Zelaya in the wee hours of the morning this Sunday, forcing him with the use of weapons to abandon the Honduran national territory , with the support of a mass media ambush que impedes the people to learn about what is going on. To this, power cuts, interrumptions of the signals of the state media and the denouncing of violations of the human rights of Honduran citizens, government officials and foreign diplomats under accreditationin that country are being implemented by the de facto government. The Network of Intellectuals and Artists in Defense of Mankind condemns the Coup D'etat against the constitutional president of the Republic of Honduras , Manuel Zelaya, and repudiates any attack against the dignity of the Honduran nation. We express our solidarity with the democratic spirit of the brotherly Central American country, reiterating our commitment with the free determination of the peoples, and demanding the respect to the legitimally constituted institutions.

We demand the stopping of the aggressions and publically accuse the military involved in the coup that are using their weapons against the people, we denounce the mass media that are accomplices and that deviating from their principles are providing support to the hegemonic interests.

We are making an appeal to the international community, to the social movements and the peoples of the world to condemn and show their repudiation massively against the Coup D'etat , demanding the return to legality and institutionality in Honduras. Likewise , we ignore any government that pretends to set itself in power by means of the use of force, convoking the people of Honduras to resist against fascism and the reactionary and conservative , until democracy is reinstalled.
